why you should wear your baby and pouch giveaway

If you haven’t already figured out (hint: bizzymommy) I am a busy mom, juggling a full-time job, an online store, two kids, and this blog and a few others coming soon. I am always doing more than one thing at any given time. Except when I’m sleeping, unless my son wakes up then I’m trying to put him to sleep while catching some z’s myself. You get the idea.

That is why and how I feel in love with baby wearing. My son has been a sling, baby carrier, baby wrap since he was born and I love getting some cuddle time while working or cleaning or cooking (my dh is laughing about the cooking part).

As if being able to juggle more than one thing wasn’t enough here are some other great benefits to wearing your baby.

Convenience
Wearing your baby is very convenient, every try maneuvering through isles at the department store during the holiday season with a stroller. It’s almost laughable and very inconvenient. Just thing how quickly you could get to that last shirt on the sale rack if you just had your baby in a comfy baby sling.

Physical Development
When your baby hangs out with you in a sling attached to your body, he or she is in tune with the rhythm of your breathing, the sound of your heartbeat and movements you make. This helps her regulate her own physical responses and exercises her vestibular system, which controls balance.

Less Crying
Studies have even shown that the more babies are held, the less they cry. Let’s get serious that baby starts to get pretty heavy after about 15 minutes. If you had them cuddled in a cozy sling you won’t get fatigued because the babies weight is distributed across your body. Some people can wear they baby all day without any problems.

A Good Workout
It’s hard finding time to exercise as a new mother, but if you carry your baby around with you most for the day and go for walks while the baby is his or her sling, you will be doing your body some good and walking off all the weight he made you put on. Additional bonus, walking with your baby in a sling is a great way to put a child to sleep.

Still not convinced? Then try a baby sling on us! We are giving a way a New Native Organic Baby Pouch to one lucky mommy.

I totally agree! I never tried baby wearing until we adopted our daughter and I used it to help us bond to each other. I loved it so much, and it was so convenient, that I wished I had done that with my first two kids!

Count this as my plea for a free pouch giveaway… it’s not for me! I’m one of six girls, and we’re all getting to that age where we’re having babies. Anyway, one of us is pregnant and we’re having a baby shower for her in December. With the economy, gift buying isn’t in the stars for me. BUT, if you give one to me, I’ll give it to her, at a baby shower nonetheless – ensuring the product gets handled by a whole room full of present and future moms! (And helping me avoid committing a major-but-unavoidable faux paus by not buying my sister a shower gift)…

I have an older-style New Native carrier and we LOVED it – we even bought a second one for my husband (they ran in sizes S/M/L/XL). Also great to pack for trips since it takes very little space – can’t say that for all carriers.
I’ve been looking at the new New Native carriers for baby #2. They now have a lining that the first version didn’t have – actually the first version is basically a loop and not much else to it. (We still loved it)
We got a Journey and Baby Trekker, both are nice, but this is so much easier to *deal* with. Even my step-brother *asked* if he could wear my daughter in it. (And this was when he was a cool college kid! Not the same with some backpack/frontpack syles!)
Also keep this style in mind if you have a baby who insists on looking around and not burying into your chest. Some babies love to snuggle in, but others, like our daughter, always had to be able to see what was going on! The picture makes it look that way, but you can twist them more onto your hip/side so they can see all around them.

I don’t need one but my sister is trying to get pregnant… we will know in a matter of weeks if her latest attempt worked out (LOL). In my own efforts to be greener and trying to get my family on the same bandwagon, I would like to win this for her!

I didn’t use a sling with my first son though I did try a carrier type thing but it was very uncomfy. I’ve been looking more at this style for our baby that will be here shortly and I think it will work much better for me. I think it will make it so much easier for me to tote around a newborn while keeping up with a toddler!

And I think that I’m subscribed to your blog :)

I’m a big fan of baby wearing! I used a sling with my two kids but now they’ve outgrown it. I’d love a chance to win this pouch as a gift for my new nephew. His mom was just saying how he loves to snuggle and she had a hard time putting him down to get things down. I recommended a sling, of course!!

I recently owned a daycare and each time I received a newborn, I would declare it “time to buy a pouch” or something. I never did.

We’ve closed the daycare now but occasionally folks will call me if their present caregiver is sick or something.

I had back surgery 4 years ago and it is so hard for me to hold a baby for along periods of time when I’m up moving around. If I had a pouch, sling, etc, it would make it easier for me to handle a new baby in my house which is only baby proofed for kids over 4.

I could REALLY use this sling right now! I have a 2 week old, a 3 & 4 yr old – and I am STRUGGLING. :) The baby stays up all night and sleeps all day. I just need some relief. Winning this would make my day. :)

Babies are cuter when worn and winning free stuff is really cool.

I never used a sling with either of my two girls because I didn’t really have the opportunity to find a sling that fit with my life, but now that I’m on baby #3 with a 3 year old and a 2 year old I’m making an extra effort to make my life easier! Baby wearing sounds like the perfect fit for me this time around and I would love to win a free pouch since we’ve had lots of extra expenses moving my other two up to big girl beds before baby comes. =) Thanks for the opportunity either way!

I have an old New Native carrier that I’ve had since my first child was born almost 6 1/2 years ago. Now that baby #3 is here, I need a sling more than ever. Would love to see how the sling has changed.

I’ve got a new baby coming in April and can’t wait to “wear” this one. I’m thinking I missed out with my first. Plus, w/ a two year old boy already, I’m gonna need all the extra hands I can get trying to deal with 2 little ones!

I used baby sling when I had my first. It was soooo convienient. It totally allows me to keep the baby safe and comfortable while still allowing me to take care of business. The only thing I was scared of was tripping/falling and landing on the baby. If I was holding the baby, it’s a little easier to protect her if I fell. But if she is strapped to me, its more dangerous. Luckily I never had it happen to me. I was just certain to watch what I was doing and where I was walking. As I’m sure you can tell, I’m a bit of a clutz. Anyways, I don’t need a sling as I already have one. So no need to count this as an entry. Just wanted to comment on your post. Great blog! :o )

I know how difficult it is for a working mum to take care of her growing children, who always want they mothers attention. There is no doubt that a baby sling with the baby in it is the best workout for a mother who doesn’t find time to workout her body.

Those features are really cool. That's what parents are looking for to take care of their babies. Thanks for sharing those information!
