Yes, I’m writing my before post AFTER the event. Actually, I started this post in my head days ago but I’ve been so exhausted I never had a chance to put it on paper, um – online.
For some reason I didn’t sleep much the days before BlogHer and some how managed to NEED to get everything done the day before I left. I needed to pack, wash and braid my daughters hair, write blog posts (obvious I didn’t get to that one), write a product review on the Jo Totes camera bag (also coming), video blog how I feel about blog (not gonna happen), watch a friends daughter for a few hours, and pack – oh I said that already.
Needless to say things didn’t go as planned and I’ve actually come to accept that – NOTHING SEEMS TO GO AS PLANNED.I hate having to carry a lot of luggage – so I normally only travel with one carryon and one checked bag anymore than that – it just turns into a juggling match. This year I decided to try out my new Missy Joe Totes camera bag as my carry on.
Luckily I was able to use the Preppy Pink HP Mini (psst – we are giving one away) for this trip was able to fit all my necessities in the ONE BAG. You won’t believe what fit inside. I carried my Canon 50D w/ Sigma 30mm lens attached, a borrowed Canon 70-200 mm lens, Tamron 28-70mm lens, HP Mini, charger for laptop and my Barnes and Noble Nook, iPhone and a few purse necessities. It was just perfect!
Then I packed my clothes and everything else in the bag I would check. I even brought along my Soincare Toothbrush (psst – we’re giving away some toothbrush heads too). I opted out of brining a second bag for “swag” because that’s not what this trip was about for me. This trip was about to see some of my online friends, meet new ones and explore New York City.
I had an early flight and needed to get up at 4 am to be ready for my 5:00 am shuttle.
packing was hard, I too didn’t want to carry a lot of stuff, and I did pretty good with my luggage. I too didn’t bring a second bag for swag. Sure some of the goodies was nice but that is not what it was all about.
