If you have one of the popular Bumbo seats, be careful where you are using it. It was originally advertised as the seat that you would be able to use anywhere including on tables, countertops, and other elevated surfaces. That is until now. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has reported that they have received more than several reports of young children falling out of the Bumbo Baby Sitter seat, including skull fractures. The incidents can occur when young children arch their backs and flip out the Bumbo seat and fall on to the floor.
As a precaution a new Warning Label will be placed on the seats urging parents to never use on any elevated surfaces.
I used my Bumbo seat with my daughter when she was younger and plan on using it with my son. I never did feel comfortable with placing it on the table or elevated surfaces anyway to I’ll be keeping the Bumbo Seat around.
