Product Review: Peek mobile device
Do you ever feel like a hostage to your email, hovering over your computer for the little mail icon to pop up. Do you turn down play dates because you have to wait for that really REALLY important email to come in? I know what you are thinking, that’s what a blackberry or smart phone is for.
But what if all you REALLY want is email, you don’t need the fancy high-tech fluff that comes with the smart phones, you just want EMAIL.
Well then the Peek mobile email device is perfect for you!
I had the opportunity to test out the Peek mobile device and it’s perfect for the non-techie mom, dad or small business owner who wants to keep their business at their finger tips while taking care of “life” stuff. Now before I go any further I have to admit I am a BlackBerry user and I DO fit in the “techie” group that the Peek is NOT marketing to. They clearly state that the device is not for hardcore techies, but I still enjoyed using the device.
So much that I took some time comparing the two devices. I love the thin and sleek design of the Peek, while it is a little wider it is much thinner than my Blackberry Curve. The Peek comes in three different colors, charcoal gray, black cherry and aqua blue.
The BlackBerry and the Peek side by side.

The Peek is a slightly larger device.

I love how the Peek renders the emails. I subscribe to several e-newsletters and I hate how they are rendered on my BlackBerry. Since most of the newsletters are html emails I get a lot of image code in the email I have to scroll through the email and I often miss what the entire campaigns was about. Not with the Peek, it renders everything in text format. So even though you may see a little code you can easily reed the email.
Here is an example of how the emails are rendered in each device.

I was pleasantly surprised by the battery life of the Peek, I didn’t have to charge the device until day 5. I loved the full keyboard, even though the keys were a little stiff.
The Peek is available for $49.99 with a Peek Service fee of $19.95 per month there is no CONTRACT to sign. You can add up to 3 email accounts on the Peek. You can even send text messages through the device even if the recipient is on different mobile device. We tested the Peek with my husband’s BlackBerry and he was able to text me back.
The Peek device is perfect for both mom and dad entrepreneurs trying to balance a business and a family at the same time. The Peek is so light and so thin you can slip it into your pocket and go.
Guess what, we will be giving away 1 Peek mobile device next week so be sure and stop by.
The Peek mobile device is BizzieMommy approved.
