What inspired you to start your business?
I’ve always had this really creative side and while working a full time job I was designing crystal belt buckles and found that others were asking where I got them from and it’s history from there. Actually there is something everyday that inspires me to design and having a little girl has definitely inspired me to design all things girly!

Describe your ideal workday.
Well you know how it is with kids juggling all their things and my business. I work 24 hours a day, especially late night hours is when I really work. I’m on the computer completing website orders, spend alot of time working with customers via email or phone on their specific custom orders, designing the products, getting them ready and shipped and then utilize all the networking forms I belong to. Just started a Fan page on Facebook and that’s been great too, http://www.facebook.com/lisaschicboutique
What have been some of your major successes?
Building my business from scratch by myself and teaching myself to be self sufficient and edit and work on my website by myself and all other aspects of my business.
Also I’ve had my designs in several Celebrity Gift baskets and designed a few Bow Holders for a few celebrities too. Also my Cigar box purses were recently in a really cool hip Fashion Show which was just awesome!
What have been some of your major challenges?
I have a 13 year old and a 3 year old so I’m much busier now with my business and finding it’s much harder working at home with my 3 year old this time around. And with this tough economy right now for small businesses is definitely a major challenge!
On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?
When I get a compliment from a Super Happy customer on how much they love their custom orders! Coming up with new ideas all the time too!

“If you really want to do something, you’ll find a way; if you don’t, you’ll find an excuse.”

Don’t give up, you can do anything you put your mind to with hard work and determination. (I tell this to my 13 year old all the time:)
