I know what you are thinking another interview already, it’s only Thursday! But I just had to share, because Leslie is an amazing entrepreneur and she is also the creator of my new favorite makeup. A couple of months back I bought my first bareMinerals starter kit and fell in love with the product line. And if you know me, you would know that it must be good if I’m taking the time to tell you about it.
Let’s just say I was never a get-up-and-put-make-up-on kind of girl. It was more like through some powder on and go. That is until I tried bareMinerals, I just love how light it feels on my skin.
Anyhow, momlogic.com had a chance to interview Leslie Blodget and they discussed everything from foundation to embarrassing mommy moments.
ML: How do you balance career, family, life?
Leslie: It’s hard to balance everything but important to be there for the moments, the everyday moments like dinner. We make a conscious effort to have breakfast and dinner with the kids. Because I worked like three months after I gave birth and my husband was a stay-at-home dad, I actually had my son sleep with me so that I could get bonding time, because I was off at work during the day. I didn’t want to not hold him and be with him.
ML: What are some tips for moms if they have an idea to get a business off the ground?
Leslie: Passion! Also, keep a journal by your bed and write down your ideas. As you start thinking and developing things in your head, write them down. Then get a group of people together that you trust will tell you the truth.
ML: What’s the biggest mistake women make in terms of makeup?
Leslie: Every woman should use blush! You look dead without blush. Blending is the most important part of applying blush. Blend everything — take a brush in circular motions and put blush on the tops of cheekbones, the forehead, and then, blend blend blend.

She’s cool. Because IMO, being a mother is very difficult, especially when you have a career.
