What inspired you to start your business?
Daily deal sites continue to grow in popularity, but the ones for women are mostly apparel. We offer products of all kinds, including housewares, kitchenware, fitness, food, and accessories.
How long have you been in business?
PeachyMom.com just launched. I have various other businesses that have been around since 2004.
What did you do in your past work life?

Describe your ideal workday.
Wake up, post the new product, go out and network, enjoy the fresh air, exercise, come home to lots of orders!
What have been some of your major challenges?
Capital. Naysayers.
On those impossible days, what motivates you to keep going?
No choice but to keep the roof over our heads and food on the table!
Do you have a motivational quote?
When you give up your dream, you die.
If there was one piece of advice you could give to your children about running a successful business, what would it be?
It’s ok to take risks. they don’t always pan out, but that’s how you learn for the next challenge.
What is your balancing secret in managing a business and family?
Family comes first. You have to know when to get up and walk away from the computer. Your kids will usually let you know when it’s time!

Great interview. Cool concept. I like the video sales pitch next to the sale item on the site. A great way to overcome the short attention span barrier (for text). I laughed out loud at the balancing secret. I agree your kids will let you know. I have a toddler in my lap as I type

When my husband was laid off from ATK in 2009 my brothers encouraged me to start a web page about family reunions. I have been organizing family reunions and parties (at least 2 a year) for almost 30 years. Although I can’t say I’m making any money I do love the process. I love searching through old reunion photos for pictures to use on my site. I love what you said about family comes first- sometimes it’s really hard to pull myself away from the computer. Love the mom entrepreneur idea.
