moleskin hack, my version

I’ve tried over a dozen calendars, organizers and planners in my adult life time and not one has been able to completely satisfy my needs. The problem is I love to take notes and jot things down so much that at one point I lugged around a notebook and a calendar to work, school, doctor’s office wherever. I won’t even tell you how many notebooks I wrote through.

So when JessicaKnows mentioned her new moleskin hack it inspired me to give it another try. The last time I created the moleskin hack I used the itty bitty Moleskin and ended up giving it the ax because it was too hard to right notes in. So after reading several Moleskin hack blog I was convinced that buying a moleskin and hacking it was the best option for me.

I purchased the Moleskine Ruled Notebook Large with the classic black cover.

I have a lot going on, so squeezing everything in took some planning and scoping.
The first thing I did was print out a calendar, condense the size and tape it to the inside cover of the moleskin. Easy Peezy, right?

Next I created a calendar on the pages for the entire year leaving plenty of room to take notes.

Then I divided the rest of the notebook into 3 parts, my store, my blogs, and free range.

I created a page that listed all my blog post ideas for my own blog and others that I contribute to. So far that’s bizziemommy.com, lalababy.com, momforce.com, thinkorganicbaby.com, and blissfullydomestic.com. Looking at the list here, I have plenty to write about!

I also included a Product Reviews page to help keep myself organized and make sure I’m not overlooking any deadlines.

I created in boxes/ to-do-list pages for both my blog and store independently. In addition to a general inbox for everything else.

My free range pages make it easy to keep track of random notes. And finally…moleskin_backcover

I put sticky notes on the back panel to jot down important phone numbers or play dates. So far I’m liking the new system even crossed EVERYTHING off my to-do-list for the weekend.

Every time I see these things online I think “I should get one of those”, and never do because I forget, money gets tight, I talk myself out of it…

Now I know just what I want for my birthday, because I have sooo many ideas for hacks after reading this. :)

I just hope I can remember when hubby asks me what to get…

What a great idea! I love your detailed pictures too. I’m so OCD and it takes me forever to find a calendar/planner for the year. I can never seem to get one that’s just perfect either. I don’t know why it didn’t cross my mind to create my own from a journal. Thanks!
