Capturing Spring and Inspiring Women
The inaugural Capture Living Photography Challenge, I hope you can participate!

I don’t know how many times I’ve vowed to complete a photography challenge, there was the 365 selfies, the 52 days of laughter, the monthly challenges, the weekly challenges and everything in between. Don’t get me wrong I love the idea, but when it comes to getting the shot, well I either forget or run out of time to get them all done.
And before you even ask, “why on earth am I about to host a challenge when I can’t even complete one?” I’m going to give you and answer.
Now that “life” has settled down a bit (temporarily I’m sure) I want to start injecting some “me” time in my packed schedule, that’s why (obviously I’ve been listening to too many Junie B Jones books). Shooting is one element of my “me” time. Writing, running and designing are the other three in case you wondering.
Now back to the task at hand – this inaugural Capture Living Photography Challenge. I’m inspired by all the holidays and events going on in the month of March from the transformation to Spring and inspiration of Women’s History.
March: Capture Living Photography Challenge
Daily Themes
- 3/08 – Capture a woman you Love or get in front of the camera yourself. Celebrate women and celebrate International Women’s Day
3/10 – Daylight Savings – I think we are all looking forward to longer days. Celebrate that extra hour of daylight by capturing a photo - 3/17 – St. Patrick’s Day – Photographs inspired by the color green
- 3/20 – The Spring season is my second favorite season, Fall is the first. Let’s celebrate fresh blooms and new beginnings and get inspired by Spring.
- 3/30 – Spring Break – What are you doing this Spring Break – capture that trip to the beach or those rides on the roller coaster. Celebrate how you are going to be spending your spring break. This would be great time to experiment with collages.
Monthly Themes
Aside from the daily prompts I would also like to encourage everyone to explore and honor National Nutrition and Women’s History month.
Every woman has a story to tell, spend the time with them get to know their history and capture them in the moment.
This month I’m going to make a special effort to eat healthy and experiment new fruits and vegetables with the kids. I know there are some super exotic ones, that will make a great photo.
The point of this challenge is to encourage people to explore their creativity without feeling the pressure to perform each and every day. We all get in a rut or more realistically we all run out of time in day every now and then.
I hope you join in and share your pictures from the challenge.
How to Participate
I’ll share a linky here and on the corresponding dates above. If you post an image for one of the generic themes, please share it here in the linky below.

Hi my name is Whitney. I’m a photographer and I stink at photo challenges, lol! Although tomorrows monthly them aligns nicely with my New Years’ resolution of being IN more photos instead of always taking them.
Lovely idea and congrats on your inaugural challenge. And the little girl in the photo above is a beauty!
I love the opening photo. I was happy after completing my first 365 project last year. I felt a sense of accomplishment from sticking with it. Now I’m doing a 52 week one. Good luck!!!
I belong to three Instagram groups in CA. Love this format.
I love this image! im no good at challenges but you may have just convinced me to reconsider
Ugh – I suck at photo challenges as well. I already missed the whole month of March – lol! But, better late than never! I love the little girl’s photo…good job!
