My Experience with Lynda.com an E-Learning Platform for Entrepreneurs
Lynda.com helps you achieve your personal and professional goals.

I remember the first time I heard of Lynda.com – it was years ago when I first got into web design and development. One of my very first training books was Dreamweaver 2.0 Hands-On Training by Lynda Weinman aka Lynda.com.
That was a long time ago and I’ve watched the Lynda franchise grow exponentially far beyond the limits web design.
Now you can login to Lynda.com and learn and expand your skills in 3D Animation, Audio, Business, Design, Development, Photography, Web, Video and so much more. So you can stay abreast on the latest technology without the need to walk into another classroom.
What’s great is that the information is packed so efficiently you can get the basics down quickly when needed. For example, say your boss wants a mobile solution for the company’s WordPress blog and you need to have an action plan for the 5 o’clock meeting.
Well thanks to Lynda.com you can learn how to create a mobile version of an existing WordPress web site in 44 minutes and successfully deliver an action plan to your boss.
Lynda.com is also perfect for the “DIY doer” like me. I’m always trying to figure out how to build/code my own projects. The videos make it easy to pick up a new skill or gain a better understanding on an existing skill. I’ve already gained valuable information on Photoshop, Lightroom, Drupal and WordPress and all in the privacy of my home at a very reasonable price.
Before Lynda.com I was never able to sign up for online curses or seminars because they were out of my price range. Now I can learn about several different subjects for a reasonable monthly fee and I have the courses available anywhere on any of my devices (phone, iPad or computer).
One of my favorite features of the Lynda.com website is the course history. Because I like to bounce from subject to subject that course history stores all that information so I can go back to a topic in the exact spot I signed off.

The user interface of Lynda.com is easy to navigate and you can find a course that fits your needs really quickly. And I love how up-to-date the courses are, which is essential when it comes to technology. For example they had Photoshop 6 videos ready for viewing before the release of the actual product.
Here’s a sneak peak on what a typical course would look like.
First you would select a class from the list…

Then you make your selection, for this example I’m using a course for Photoshop 6. On this page you will find all course information, a table of contents which displays a breakdown of each video and its duration. You have the ability to download exercise files or transcripts if available.

Then you just click on one of the video links and start learning! It’s that simple.

If you are ready to get started with Lynda.com, two lucky readers of Bizzie Living will receive their own 1-year subscription of the Lynda.com service. See the details below to enter to win.
