So after spending 4 hours in L&D last night, I am back at home with contractions waiting for my baby boy to make his grand appearance. I tried everything to get things going, short of castor oil and he still won’t budge. I’m beginning to think he has his own agenda that doesn’t involve my needs or desires. Yesterday I walked the mall, I went to the movies, I did the deed and walked some more. It didn’t faze him. So today I will the (apparently not strong enough contractions) go to my daughters Christmas party, stop by my work Christmas party, finish my shopping and then just come home and relax.
I did however learn one thing, well two really. But this one is most important. See I was going by the expected due date on my 2nd trimester ultrasound as I was convinced that it would be the most accurate. After all when you first go to the doctor they base the due date on your last monthly period. But I was completely wrong! Which is obvious now as my baby is still in their baking. But the doctor told me that the 1st ultrasound is the most accurate, your 2nd trimester ultrasound has a 2 week cushion and if you have a 3rd ultrasound that cushion extends out to 3 weeks!
I only wish I had known sooner, and then I would have not set my expectations on a Dec. 20th baby. So I changed my ticker to the 27th and now I am back to a 6 day count down.
I think he wants to be a Christmas Baby.
