I’m a digital junkie, I can admit it. I love gadgets but what I love even more are stylish gadgets. Even before they started making “stylish” laptops I was buying the silicone covers just to make my laptop, phone or iPod stand out from all the rest. I just hated how drab and boxy computers used to be. But now you can actually find stylish computers that are affordable.
This weekend I was invited to attend Dwell on Design and visit the Bloggers Lounge hosted by HP. I’ve been on the market for a new laptop so I was extremely excited to be able to get a tour on all of the current HP products. It was love at first site when I saw the Preppy Pink HP Mini 210HD, how did HP design a mini that totally fit my personality!
I was weary about buying a mini because I was concerned it would be too small and cumbersome but my fingers easily glided across the keys. In fact the keyboard isn’t that much smaller than the one I’m using now and the keys are spaced out wide enough to reduce typing errors. While the mini obviously wouldn’t work as my primary computer it’s reasonably priced just under $330 to act as my mobile solution. It can easily fit into a bag or purse so you can work anytime, anyplace.
I was also on the lookout for a new laptop to use as my primary computer. I know I needed something powerful enough to edit pictures and videos and that had a decent sized screen space. My current laptop is a 13” inch and I have it connected to two monitors to increase my available screen real estate. I played with the TouchSmart laptop but realized I didn’t really need or want a swivel screen and they were a little too small. However, I was able to test out the HP Pavilion dv7t and loved the screen size, a whopping 17 inches. The new Beats technology is also included in the Pavilion as well. Beats is a HP and Dr. Dre collaboration to bring out the real sound how artists intended you to hear it.
Okay so I know how HP can style my technology what about the rest of the family. The sleek and stylish HP TouchSmart 300z series all-in-one PC is the perfect media hub for the entire family. I can see having one in the kitchen to make it easier to follow along with recipes. I would maintain the “family” calendar so it’s readily available for the entire family.
If you are uncomfortable with your kids being online behind walls, you can let them surf and Facebook on the TouchSmart family computer. With technology being such a big part in my life and business I can already see the habits rubbing off on my kids. My 2 year old can easily navigate my iPhone to get to his games and shows. My kids would really enjoy the HP TouchSmart all-in-one PC.
Some other products on display at Dwell on Design were the Envy High Performance laptops and the HP TouchSmart tm2t series laptops with the swivel screens.
Check out some of the other pictures I took in the HP Bloggers Lounge. Tell me you wouldn’t want this dual I mean triple monitor setup.

And then my soon to be new toy. I just love this little mini I can’t wait to get one to take out on location or even to BlogHer.

I have an HP DV7-2180us. I LOOOOVE this thing. I got the most powerful one that I could find at the time and it does not disappoint at all. I use it all the time, a lot more than my desktop.
I also have a netbook (non-Hp)
. It is an Acer, and I love it.
Kris that is great to hear. I can’t wait to get one – my computer has been running slower and slower and its no longer portable because it will overheat!
