The most challenging part for me is lighting. Where should the sun be? How do I put people of different skin tones in the same photo and not over/under expose them. That is my biggest challenge.
Please enter me into the drawing.
Lyn-Dee
Lyn-Dee,
Lighting is a big issue with me too. Especially because my main subject is my daughter and she doesn’t always want to keep still long enough for me to practice. And to add to that she tells me where to place the lights. Mommy that one should be lower… Yes she’s only 5.
I frequently struggle with lighting, as well as depth of field. I want to get in tight, but with a squirming (or sometimes completely unwilling) subject, it is difficult for me to make all of the adjustments to make it “just right.”
Lighting is usually the biggest hassle for me. It’s either too dark, shadowed, or even with 2 shots one right after the other, same settings, the lighting can suddenly change and be completely different with one small movement.
Which setting to use. I’m trying to get away from using the auto setting for everything. I just bought a lens, now I need to know how to use everything.
We are Twitter pals.
For me groups, keeping them all in focus…ugggg
When taking portraits … lighting and poses. Even after multiple Photog Shootouts I still have trouble getting stunning portraits. I would like to blame my lens, but I think that it’s I don’t really get in there for a good shot.
Darnit, I’m already your fan, subscriber, and follower.
Congrats on the Forbes list by the way. That is so awesome!
Even as a professional photographer, lighting and posing is still a challenge, so you guys shouldn’t be too hard on yourselves.
