I still haven’t recuperated from my trip to New York but I figured I better finish up these posts because the days are already starting to blur.
First up on the agenda was the Getting Gorgeous walk at 9:00am. I think I was the only one up for the BlogHer breakfast wearing workout clothes, but who cares I was hungry. I debated on bringing my camera to “exercise” but decided what the heck this is my first time in New York – I’m going to capture everything. I met up with @rockinmama and @mommymandy in the lobby to walk to our walk to the Shape-ups store. Still not used to having to “walk” everywhere.
I was so excited to find @Sheenatatum, @acowboyswife and @erikalehmann and so many others geared up for the walk. Some of the lucky um “walkers” were gifted with a pair of Shape-ups Skechers to walk the walk (sorry just had to say it). I have an older pair of Shape-ups and I was surprised by the new shoe selection they have so many options now – enough to fill an entire store. Today their store was overran by bloggers.
We met with Andrea Metcalf the Skechers spokesperson and leader of our walk. She showed us how to really use the shoes to help us really get fit. The exercises were fun even though I wasn’t testing out the shoes. We made our way back to the hotel in time for our next event.
Listen to what Andrea has to say about the shoes and exercise - I was only able to catch a little bit of her talk.
The Getting Gorgeous Event hosted by Vera Sweeney and Audrey McClelland where guests had the opportunity to get their hair and makeup done by stylists and check out some really cool products. From Shape-Ups to jeans to underwear.
After that I was starving so I made my way to the Blogher lunch for a quick pick me up before getting dressed and ready for the next thing on the list.
That afternoon I met up with @Rockinmama and @ mommymandy for lunch at the American Girl Café. I have to say I was totally impressed not just by the lunch but the entire experience. I’ve seen the store in LA but never checked it out until now. The dolls are so cute and the store is definitely experiences a girl should go through at least once in her life.
The restaurant is great, we were even allowed to borrow some dolls to have at our table and the food was deliciously adorable. I am definitely considering getting one for Miss Bizzie’s birthday next year.
The next event on my list wasn’t until the evening so I wondered around the exhibit hall and hotel hallway to mingle with my fellow blogging friends.
Then I headed off to the Hallmark Party for a quick visit because @SheenaTatum and I had signed up the NYC Tours4Fun Tour. I was a little bummed that the busses weren’t the open air tour buses like I had imagined. But overall we did get to see a brief overview of the city.
Then after the tour I was off to bed to catch up my sleep.

My daughter is actually afraid of the American Girl dolls. I was going to get her one that came with a book at Borders and that’s when she told me the dolls looked creepy to her. Oh well. Sounds like you had a good time at BlogHer.
