I’ll be the first to admit, I was not prepared for this event. I had huge plans on getting all of my sites live and presentable but it just didn’t happen. One day I’ll learn to set realistic expectations… I even ordered my business cards at the last minute. I was up until 2 to get ready for my 4 am pickup then I couldn’t sleep because I was worried about over sleeping.
But I didn’t oversleep, I was ready on time and the shuttle showed up on time and the drive to LAX was smooth sailing. Mental note the best time to drive over the hill is at 4 am. While getting ready all morning I had this feeling I was forgetting something, and of course I remembered what it was at the airport. My iPhone Charger – Ugg. I reluctantly picked up a replacement at the airport. You can imagine it wasn’t cheap.
The plan ride to New York was straight through no layovers which was really great. I paid for the airline wifi in hopes to get some posts written but I was so tired I just couldn’t concentrate.
It was about a 5 hour flight and we landed at JFK a few minutes early. The first thing I noticed about New York was the hustle – I had about 4 different “taxi drivers” ask me if I needed a taxi while I was walking to get to the designated taxi area.
When I arrived at the Hilton I had no problems checking in and immediately ran into several people I knew like @ReneeJRoss and @SheenaTatum. I had planned to go to the Hanes event but the trip from the airport took longer than I expected and I missed it. So I grabbed some food at that bar before heading off to the Bumble Bee Event.
Bumble Bee Event
I’ve never been a fan of Tuna – I used to pretend I was sleeping whenever my mom would make tuna sandwiches or tuna on crackers. So I was super reluctant at trying some of Chef Scott Leibfried dishes but I also never saw tuna look so good either.

I was blown away – his tuna dishes didn’t taste like the old tuna my mom would try and force me to it. This tuna was actually good. The event was great and I ran into some old friends and met some new ones.
After the Bumble Bee event I had a massive headache, I hung around at the bar and lobby for as long as I could take it. My headaches always come at the worst times.
