applebee’s targeted by angry nursing moms

“Family restaurant chain Applebee’s says its goal is to provide a great dining experience for all.
But some women say the courtesy doesn’t extend to them as breast-feeding mothers – and they’re angry about it.
Outraged by an incident at a Lexington, Ky., Applebee’s in June – when a mother of eight was told to cover her 7-month-old with a blanket while he was nursing – the women have organized a protest that will kick off today at Applebee’s locations across the country, including at the company restaurant in Chatsworth.”

This insert is from an article written one of the great writers at the Los Angeles Daily Newspaper where I work. To read the complete article click here.

After the article was posted they allowed for people to comment on the blog. I have to say I was shocked by some of the responses. Check out some of the reader comments here.

My personal opinion is you should feed your baby where you feel comfortable, who cares what other people think. Breast feeding is natural and a part of life. I tried breast feeding my first child, but I just wasn’t producing enough to feed her. Who knows, maybe it will be different this time around.
