After the hubs decided to slap some perspective on me this weekend I remembered what my original goals were in life. It’s actually pretty funny. This blog, my online baby boutiques, everything was all started to hopefully generate enough money so I could quit my job and spend my days writing screenplays in the hopes that one will eventually be sold.
I can’t even remember the last day I had time to even write FADE IN, it was some time before Bizzie Princess. Why I’m not sure it’s necessarily my “goal” these days I do fantasize about becoming a sold screenwriter.
Which leads me here.
I have been kinda sitting by the sidelines waiting for my traffic to increase, waiting for the sales to come, and hoping for comments on my blog. Until I realizes the internet isn’t the place to test out the “if you build it they will come” philosophy. That isn’t how the web works. It’s about traffic. Success depends on traffic.
What it doesn’t depend on is the “prettiness” of your site or how creative your blog header is. (Yes I know prettiness isn’t a word, and if you knew me you would know that I so don’t care) It depends on TRAFFIC.
So I thought it was high time I get off my lazy ass and start working on increasing the traffic to both my blog and my online baby boutique so I can continue to build more blogs and more online stores. I am addicted to working on the internet. I just love, love it!
So my first move was dusting off (not really dusting) an e-book I purchased ions ago. It’s been sitting on my bookshelf for over 3 months just waiting for me to pick it up.
And you know what. I started to read that e-book and learned a couple of things, (1) that you can write curse words in your own book, simply because its your book, (2) that I can handle some of my on SEO work, (3) that I need to do a lot of work on both my blogs and stores.
I bet your wondering what SEO e-book I’m referring too (if not you should be). It’s How to Become an SEO Ninja by Naomi Dunford from ittybiz.com.
A great, easy to read resource on the top of SEO that will set you back a mere 40 bucks.
I am starting to implement some of her suggestions so it will be interesting to see how effective they are. I’ll let you know.
Check back next week as I’ll be posting a review of PR in your Pajamas by Elena Verlee.

I read this post with great interest because I have always wanted to write a screenplay, like you. I keep blogging and blogging and I find it’s satisfying all of my creative writing urges at the moment. Who knows, maybe this is the writing I am actually meant to do after all.
I’m really looking forward to reading what you learn about SEO.
I agree with you 100%…although I cant believe you are having trouble with traffic! Not you! But I guess when it comes to our own work, perception is relative. My novel, your screenplays…we are kindred spirits!
I am a beginner in the field of seo and and now iam very much motivated and have a clear vision for my future in this arena known as SEO.
