Did you know that you are supposed to replace your toothbrush every 3 months? Well of course most of us know we are supposed to, but how many of us actually do. The fact it is when you are a busy mom remembering when you bought the toothbrushes in the first place can be a challenge. For me I usually replace my toothbrush when it starts to look worn because nothing reminds me more than some bent bristles.
My family is participating in the Phillips Sonicare 30 Day Challenge this month and things have been going really well. I’ve been using the Sonicare daily and my teeth feel cleaner and even look a little whiter and I haven’t had to argue with my daughter about brushing her teeth for two weeks. The Hubs and I put labels on our toothbrushes so we don’t confuse them. How many times have you accidently used your spouse’s toothbrush? Did you tell him/her?
So we all know we should change our toothbrush every 3 months but you should also replace your toothbrush or brush head for the following reasons:
- After a Cold – Germs linger are toothbrushes so you should discard yours for a fresh new brush when you are feeling better
- Worn Toothbrushes – If the bristles look worn out of shape, don’t wait the 3 months just replace them. This especially important for kids, because they often chew on the bristles
- Rely on the Indicator – Some toothbrushes have an replacement indicator on them – use that as your reference regardless if it’s less than 3 months
- When your Dentist recommends it – If your Dentist suggest your replace your toothbrushes earlier just do it.
- After Someone Else Uses It – If you did accidentally use your spouse’s toothbrush be kind enough to replace it with a fresh one

We’ve been using Sonicare for several years and we love, love, love them! They clean so well the my dentist actually believes I’m flossing every day (shhh, don’t tell!) I love the fresh, clean feeling after brushing. You can’t get the same cleaning from a manual brush.
I might pay for the convience of automatic shipment. The total price would have to be comparable to the price I pay for replacements at Costco.

I like the quadpacer technology, which ensures I spend the right amount of time on each quadrant of my mouth before moving on to the next. I also like the reports from my dentist that this brush has noticeably improved my gum health with regular use.

I’m not sure I can narrow it down to ONE thing! I love how effective they are… every day, I have that “right from the dentist” feeling!
I like how clean my teeth feel after brushing with my sonicare. And that my gums look healthier to my dentist now.
I don’t think I would like my replacements shipped automatically. I usually shop around and buy mine wherever the best deal happens to be going on at the time or where I have a great coupon for.
I like the little jolt it gives you to let you know it’s time to switch to a different area of your mouth. Nifty!
I might pay an extra fee, if it was reasonable. No more than $20 extra per six month period though. I am bad about remembering to replace them.

My teeth look great but I’m really happy with how healthy my gums are with the Sonicare. I had to switch to waxed floss.

Everyone in my family has a Sonic and we love it because it cleans my teeth better and the timer tells me how long I have been brushing my teeth.
